As a former member of a US Army Special Operations unit, Chad knows what it means to train the body and mind at the highest levels. He also knows what it means to lose focus after the accomplishment of a mission, and how daily life can become its own fight for inspiration. Chad credits yoga with the chance to heal and discover a new mission, which he now shares through the community at Indigo Yoga. For Chad, breath and movement are healing actions, and create space for individual development. Yoga provides a way for him to help others go places they may not go alone, and acquire a newfound sense of purpose through the journey.
Inspired by his wife, fellow instructor Brandi Nelson, along with numerous other instructors and mentors at Indigo Yoga, Chad completed his 200 hour RYT training with Brooke Hamblet Teacher Training School in May 2016. He credits all those around him for lessons in vulnerability, service, and the freedom found in yoga. Chad's goal as an instructor is to share these lessons, especially with youth, athletes, and other military veterans.
